ELIGIBILITY: The Digital Dormroom Sweepstakes ("Promotion") is open to legal residents of the 50 United States (including the District of Columbia) who are students enrolled at an accredited two or four year college or university, 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of Microsoft Corporation ("Sponsor"), Dell, and each of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, assignees, officers, directors, distributors, retailers, advertising/promotion agencies and Project Support Team, Inc. ("Administrator") (collectively, the "Released Parties"), and any such employee's immediate family members (including mother, father, sister, brother, child, spouse, and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and those living in their households (whether related or not) are not eligible to enter or win (however Microsoft Student Partners and Dell Student Representatives are eligible). Promotion is void in Puerto Rico and where prohibited. Promotion is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE: This Promotion begins on October 1, 2008 at 11:59:59 AM Pacific Time ("PT") and ends on November 30, 2008 at 11:59:59 PM PT (the "Promotion Period"). A Windows Live ID is required to participate. For information about how to obtain a free Windows Live ID, visit http://get.live.com/getlive/overview. During the Promotion Period, you may receive one (1) entry by signing up for the Zune Social at the following URL: http://social.zune.net/default.aspx (the "Website"), linking to the official entry form and following the instructions provided to complete and submit your entry. You must complete all required fields as indicated on the entry form. Failure to provide complete and accurate data will result in automatic disqualification. There is a limit of one (1) entry per person and per email address per day for the entire duration of the Promotion Period. Additional entries received from any one person or email address on any given day after the first entry received from that person or email address on that day will be void. The Website's database clock will be the official timekeeper for this Promotion. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of an entrant based on email address and/or Windows Live ID submitted on the online entry form, entry will be deemed to be from the email account subscriber of the email address at issue, as determined by Sponsor in its discretion regardless of the name that appears on the official on-line entry form. Email account subscriber is the natural person who is assigned the email address by the Internet Service Provider (ISP), on-line service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses. All entries become property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. The use of any devices to automate entry, including but not limited to, entries submitted using any bot, macro, script, hack, online sweepstakes service or form-filling software (or any other devices intended to automate any part of the entry process) to gain an entry into this Promotion is prohibited. Entries by any means which subvert the entry process will be void. If Administrator or Sponsor, at their sole discretion, determine that any entrant has used any device to automate or subvert the entry process, all entries from that entrant will be void and future entry attempts by the entrant at issue may be blocked. Released Parties are not responsible for telephonic, human or computer software or hardware failures, problems or errors, interruptions in service due to system upgrades, repairs, modifications or other causes, failures or malfunctions of connections, phones, phone lines telephone systems, network, cable, satellite, Internet Service Provider (ISP) or any other connections, traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, technical or mechanical malfunctions, or other malfunctions or errors, whether caused by equipment, programming, human error or otherwise, non-delivery, misdirected, blocked or delayed email notifications, or for typographical, printing or other errors appearing in these Official Rules or other Promotion-related materials, or for any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in this Promotion or downloading any materials in this Promotion, or for any other errors or problems of any kind, including, without limitation, errors or problems which may occur in connection with administration of the Promotion, the announcement of the prizes or the processing of entries or any other Promotion-related materials. Released Parties are also not responsible for incomplete, unintelligible, inaccurate, lost, misdirected, garbled, late, stolen, delayed, damaged, undeliverable or mutilated entries or entries containing false information of any kind and all such entries will be void. CAUTION: Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of this Promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages and/or other remedies (including attorneys' fees) from any such person(s) responsible for the attempt to the fullest extent allowed by law.
DRAWING/PRIZES/ODDS: One (1) potential Grand Prize winner, one (1) potential Second Prize winner and one (1) potential Third Prize winner will be selected from amongst all eligible entries received throughout the Promotion Period by means of a random drawing conducted on or around December 9, 2008.
The Grand Prize winner will receive the following package of prizes: a Dell XPS 1330 notebook computer (Approximate Retail Value ("ARV") = $1,000), a Dell XPS 730 H2C Desktop PC (ARV = $4,359.00), a Dell Crystal Monitor (ARV = $1,199.00), a Velocity Micro NetMagix Server (ARV = $899), a Dell Laser 2130cn printer (ARV = $399), a Sony Bravia 32" television (ARV = $800.00), an Altec Lansing speaker system (ARV = $300), a D-Link wireless router (ARV = $200.00), a Zune 120GB media player (ARV = $250.00), a one-year subscription to Zune Pass (ARV = $180.00), an Altec Lansing speaker dock (ARV = $150.00), an Xbox 360 with controllers (ARV = $550.00), a one-year subscription to Xbox Live (ARV = $45.00), a suite of games for Xbox 360 (ARV = $300.00) and a wireless adapter (ARV = $100.00). The total ARV of the Grand Prize package is $10,731.
The Second Prize winner will receive the following package of prizes: a Dell XPS 1330 notebook computer (ARV = $1,000), a Kicker speaker dock (ARV = $299.00), a Zune 120GB media player (ARV = $250.00), a one-year subscription to Zune Pass (ARV = $180.00), a one-year subscription to Xbox Live (ARV = $45.00), an Xbox 360 with controllers (ARV = $550.00) and a suite of five games for Xbox 360 (ARV = $300.00). The total ARV of the Second Prize package is $2,624.00.
The Third Prize package winner will receive the following package of prizes: a Dell XPS 1330 notebook computer (ARV = $1,000), a Zune 120GB media player (ARV = $250.00), a one-year subscription to Zune Pass (ARV = $180.00) and a set of Sony headphones (ARV = $100). The total ARV of the Third Prize package is $1,530. The total combined ARV of all prizes is $14,885. Receipt of any prize will be subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with the terms of these Official Rules. Specifics of each prize package (including Xbox 360 game titles included with Grand Prize package) are subject to availability and Sponsor's sole discretion. All prizes will be awarded "as is" without any warranty or guarantee, either express or implied by Sponsor. Any and all warranties and/or guarantees on prizes (if any) shall be subject to the manufacturer's terms therefore, and each winner agrees to look solely to such manufacturer for any such warranty and/or guarantee. All applicable federal, state and local taxes, and any other costs and expenses associated with prize acceptance and use not specified herein as being included as part of the prize are the sole responsibility of the winners. No transfer, cash redemption or substitution of prize is permitted, except that Sponsor may, at its discretion, substitute a prize with a different prize of comparable or greater value. Odds of winning any prize depend on the total number of eligible entries received throughout the entire Promotion Period. All prize details are at Sponsor's sole discretion.
MISCELLANEOUS: The potential winners will be notified on or about December 16, 2008 by mail or email and will be required to execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability Release and (where legal) Publicity Release within six (6) business days of date of receipt of documents. The potential winners may also be required to provide proof of enrollment at an accredited two or four year college or university. Failure to comply with the specified time period or with these Official Rules, the return of prize notification as undeliverable, or Sponsor's inability to contact a potential winner within a reasonable time period will result in forfeiture of the prize and, at Sponsor's sole discretion, the applicable prize may be awarded to an alternate winner. By entering, all entrants agree to abide by these Official Rules and to the decisions of the Sponsor and judges, which shall be final and binding in all respects, and further agree that 1.) the Sponsor and its designees and assigns may use (unless prohibited by law) their names, cities and states of residence, photographs and/or likenesses for advertising and/or trade and/or any other purpose in any and all media now or hereafter known worldwide without limitation and without further compensation, permission or notification and 2.) the Released Parties shall have no liability and will be held harmless from any liability, loss, injury or damage to any entrant or any other person or entity, including personal injury or death to entrant or any other person or damage to personal or real property due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by reason of the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of prize or participation in this Promotion. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to void suspect entries or claims and/or cancel, terminate or suspend any portion of this Promotion should a virus, Trojan Horse, worm, bug, Denial of Service ("DOS") attack, non-authorized human intervention, tampering, fraud, or other causes corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper play of the Promotion and, in the event of cancellation or termination, at its discretion, select the Grand Prize winner from eligible non-suspect entries received prior to the event requiring such termination or cancellation.
